Since its construction and until the 1970’s, an oil mill on the ground floor – to which most of the olive production of the surrounding area flowed – was used. The B&B name comes from a thread of the memory about the stories of our great-great-grandfather, who said that to build that house he had traveled three times “to America” and that he had finished it right on the threshold of the twentieth century.
“it always happened that at a certain point one would raise his head … and see it. It is hard to understand. Yet there was always one, only one, one, who saw it first … and turned and shouted … “America!”
Alessandro Baricco – Novecento
So, when I read the beginning of Baricco’s book I always think of “grandfather Vincenzo” and I picture him there, on the parapet of the ship entering the port, and he turns and screams … America !!!
The sweet and nice Mrs. Consalva will welcome you with her breakfast desserts, the painted rooms and the family atmosphere made up of cozy corners, books and wonderful views.
You will be accompanied by the gentle rustle of the river below, that you can enjoy for relax or hiking.

I spent a few days at the BB Novecento, and it has been a wonderful experience, starting from the warmth welcome of Mrs. Consalva. The rooms are large and comfortable and the location is perfect for sports and outdoor activities.
